Since this is waaaaaaay beyond my skills, I'm afraid my critique isn't going to be very good. But...might as welljust give it a shot.

I can see this picture going both ways: gloomy and foreboding, to peacefull and calming; it's all the lighting and placement of animals. What this makes me think of is a lost traveler got lost in a wood, but enjoyed every moment of it. The animals didn't flee from him, nor did they try to hurt him, for he means them no harm. Nothing more than a harmless passerby anjoying the sights.

The trees are curling out, but instead of a foreboding look to them, they seem like they're saying "I'll protect you and keep you warm."

The animals look calm, like nothing will hurt them. The deer is crossing the road, looking for new grass to eat or just because the forest is too big to stand still for a long time. The birds are like lovers; sitting on the branch, letting love that will last bloom.

The light at the end is the sun saying "Let me warm your sad face", it's warm and welcoming.

This is the kind of picture I look for when I'm down on myself and need cheering up. Great job, man ^_^
